Conservatives, liberals, gays, veterns, bikers, young, and old gathered together to “counter-protest” the Westboro Bapatist Church of Topeka, Kansas at the TRAC in the Tri-Cites, Washington.
Only four members of the infamous church that denounces America, gays, and U.S. soldiers showed up to protest the funeral of Sgt. Travis Pfister; whereas an estimated 3000 people attended the counter-protest and another 1000 attened the memorial service inside of the TRAC. Needless to say the Westboro Bapatists only lasted 45 minutes.
So much unity and patriotism shows that America is not as divided as we were made out to be in the previous two presidential elections. Thousands of American flags were proudly displayed by counter-protestors as two enormous flags hung high above the parking lot from the tops of fire truck ladders. Veterns showed up in groves from across the Pacific Northwest on their Harley’s to show their support for Pfister’s family and friends.
The Patriot Guard Riders came all the way from Kansas to help protect the Pfister family from the Westboro Baptist Church.
Some of the bikers burned some rubber in front of the Westboro Baptists as police turned a blind eye. Other motorists drove by, honking their horns and blowing black smoke from their diesel engines at the unwanted Kansas visitors. But overall, the event ended up in no violence and when the Westboro Baptists left in less then an hour, the counter-protestors cheered and planted an American flag where the Westboro Baptists had stood.

I’m glad to hear that everything went well! That’s pretty great that so many people showed up.
“Some of the bikers burned some rubber in front of the Westboro Baptists as police turned a blind eye…”
This sort of thing kind of irritates me a little bit though. I understand that these people are terrible, but this IS America and they have rights just like everyone else… even if their beliefs are awful. At least nobody beat the shit out of them while the police “turned a blind eye” although I wouldn’t put it past some of the folks in our town.
Thank god it didn’t erupt in violence. Overall, sounds like a complete success.
