The infamous Westboro Baptist Church is coming to my hometown to protest the memorial service of a local fallen soldier in Iraq.
After reading their website, I found that this church has the firm belief that God is punishing the United States for its tolerance of homosexuals by having our young men and women getting killed in Iraq. They also disapprove of the popular Christian belief that “God loves everyone” and aparently, God only loves those who believe and follow the Bible’s literary interpretations.
Why they are protesting single soldier’s funerals? I don’t know. They should be at the White House, but then again, what kind of shock value and pulicity would they get out of standing on Pennsylvania Avenue with some signs?
So now, the friends and family of the soldier have to go to his funeral service and see these fanatics angry at them for “supporting” the war by losing a loved one in it.
What a bunch of assholes. I’m pretty sure God hates them. Because the last time I checked, the Bible and Christianity (as well as the majority of other religions) preach brotherhood and acceptance, not division and hate (their website is godhatesfags.com). I’m also pretty sure that the Bible isn’t meant to be literal, but metaphorical, but that’s a different arguement and a different blog.

Wow. What a bunch of fags.

I’d think the Bible isn’t meant to be literal also, but I’ve met plenty of Christians who stand by that everything in that book is 100% FACT.
Meh…
